If you mailed in your return and are still not seeing the money come out, give it time… it may take 6 months or even more. The IRS is way behind still and running on a fraction of the staff they were using.
They are giving priority to 2019 original returns, prior years and amendments will take longer.
One way to see if your return is at least being processed is to log on to your online irs.gov account and see if that year is showing a balance, whether a refund or amount owed. You can also call to check on the status but if they haven’t processed it, they won’t have a status.
Always remember to mail your correspondence with the IRS certified with tracking and if your tax preparer mails it for you, make sure they do it that way too.
